Basic Dungeoneers--Progress Report

I must admit that I'm very excited and a little overwhelmed by my first product release! It's been up for less than 24 hours and it's already been downloaded over 100 times AND recieved a review on DriveThru giving it 4-out-of-5 stars! To some of the more experienced and established publishers, this may seem like small potatoes, but it's a BIG deal here!

Just so you know, my goal is to release at least one new product every month. I will try to get my releases more frequent than that, but with my other commitments, one product a month is a practical expectation.

Our very first product is nearly ready for release! For our first set of cardstock miniatures, we've devised a set of characters inspired by the classic character classes of the basic version of the world's most popular fantasy role-playing game.

There is a male and female character for each class: Cleric, Dwarf, Elf, Fighter, Halfling, Magic-User, and Thief. Also, this set includes two villains: a Dark Warrior and a Wicked Spellcaster who can be used as a Corrupt Cleric OR an Evil Sorceress!

Welcome to Fantanomicon Press!

Here at Fantanomicon Press, we are dedicated to providing you with quality products to enhance your gaming experiences!

Yeah, I know, you've heard that before, and it sounds really good. But what does it really mean? Here, it means that we plan to produce adventure modules and cardstock miniatures that you folks can download and use in your games.

By now you're probably wondering what games we plan to support. Mostly retro-clones. Are you familiar with retro-clones?

Thanks to the Open Gaming License, we have all sorts of new supplements and variations of a certain role-playing game. Among these variations are the retro-clones. A retro-clone is a re-invention of an older version of the game. So if you prefer Basic or First Edition, there is a retro-clone (or several) out there now that is just like it. And with the OGL, third parties can publish supplements and adventures.

That's what we plan to do. It is my intention to begin producing adventure modules to support games like Labyrinth Lord, Osric, Swords and Wizardry, and other "basic fantasy games". We will also support the post-apocalyptic retro-clone, Mutant Future.

For the paper miniatures, we plan to concentrate on some of the genres that don't (in our opinion) get enough attention. So we plan to offer some space opera (as opposed to the dominating military style), pulp, and post-apocalyptic (influenced heavily by Mutant Future) figures.

This site will be our HQ, where you can find any and all pertinent news regarding our products, upcoming releases, or special offers. Questions, comments, and suggestions are always welcome! Our products will be sold through DriveThruRpg and its sister site RPGNow and we hope to release (at least) one new product every month.
